After a lazy morning and a great lunch at El Burladero, a nearby Spanish restaurant, the time has come to squeeze everything back into our suitcases and get home. Our flight on Delta is the return leg of the flight that was cancelled way back on December 29. This time things appear to be going better. There was another threatened airport workers strike today, but again it seems to have been cancelled. We arrive at the EZE airport 3 hours early as directed, and are through security in twenty minutes. Fortunately we get into a nice quiet lounge to wait.
The flight to New York departs late because the tractor used to pull the plane from the gate breaks down. We arrive in New York, get through security and make our flight to Rochester at Gate A14. Our gate is then changed to Gate B42, at the opposite end of the terminal. But then the airplane door breaks as they are closing it. We have to deplane, switch gates to B 46 and wait for a replacement plane. Still, this is small potatoes; we’re only an hour’s flight from home.

The flight to Rochester, albeit late, is uneventful. The worst of the cold weather has passed and it’s a balmy 36°F when we land. Margaret and the kids are there to greet us. Home at last.
